Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of service do you have?

We have a warm traditional service. Our goal is to worship in a way that is meaningful to those without a Christian background. Everything is written in the bulletin (Lord’s prayer, doxology, scripture, etc.) so you won’t feel lost.

What kind of dress is expected?

Some dress up, some wear slacks, others wear jeans or shorts. You won’t be judged by your clothes. Just come!

But I don't know anyone there.

Everyone is new here, so we are very friendly. You will receive a warm welcome.

What kind of music will be there?

We sing songs that center on God’s character and works. Some are classic hymns of the faith; some are more contemporary. Our hymn sing allows you to select your favorites.

Are you biblical?

We certainly are. Our pastor, Clyde Reed, usually alternates sermon series between the Old and New Testaments. You can follow along in the bulletin or your Bible as he explains the text and how we can apply it to our lives.

What about children?

All children stay for the first part of the service which includes the children’s sermon and hymn sing, then we have a Christian education program for them (Bible story, songs, etc.). One of our priorities is to nurture children in the Christian faith and to equip parents to raise them in a godly manner.

But I work Sunday.

We have a home Bible study on Wednesday nights. Call 480-982-4331 for further information.

I’m not familiar with the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.

The Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church is a Bible-based, evangelical family of believers founded in 1782. Today the ARP Church has over 260 congregations in the United States and Canada. Our missions agency, World Witness, has missionaries in Mexico, Pakistan, Singapore, Wales, Germany, Spain, Ukraine, Scotland and Turkey. Our Erskine College, in Due West, South Carolina, is the highest ranked Christian school in the South, according to U.S. News and World Report. The beliefs of the ARP Church are theologically identical to that of the Presbyterian Church in America.
